Overview

The (Hons) Nursing (Mental Health) (Pre-registration Nursing) aims to produce excellent nurses, who are fit for practice and able to meet the key needs of all patient groups. Students will experience an academic and professional training environment conceived and structured to enable you to gain the knowledge, understanding and skills to pursue and sustain a career in contemporary nursing practice.

This is a three-year, full-time degree consisting of field of practice, generic and practice learning modules, beginning at Level 4 through to Level 6.

The BPP University School of Nursing is committed to producing nursing students who are highly skilled, compassionate, caring professionals.

Mental health nurses work with a variety of people, or can specialise in a particular filed of practice such as adolescents, adults or offenders.

Usually you will be required to work on a number of tasks during any given day such as assessing and supporting patients, encouraging patients to take on therapies, physical care and providing medication, to name a few.

  • DDM. Health and Social Care or Science only will be considered

  • All Level 3 credits must be at Distinction level. Nursing, science or health-related pathway only will be considered (to include study of physiology and biology)
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma
  • 30 points, Higher Level grades minimum of 5, 5, 5

Funding

UK students applying for our Undergraduate courses can apply for Tuition Fee Loans and Maintenance Loans to help cover the cost of tuition fees and living costs whilst studying (subject to eligibility). Tuition Fee Loans are also available for EU students.

You can apply for a tuition fee loan up to a maximum of £6,000 (full-time) or £4,500 (part-time) per academic year. For students from Northern Ireland, the maximum tuition fee loan available is £3,805 per academic year.
