Overview
The (Hons) Nursing (Mental Health) (Pre-registration Nursing) programme at BPP University aims to produce excellent nurses, who are fit for practice and able to meet the key needs of all patient groups. Students will experience an academic and professional training environment conceived and structured to enable you to gain the knowledge, understanding and skills to pursue and sustain a career in contemporary nursing practice.
This will ensure that person-centred recovery processes are addressed throughout the course in the development of the student. The mental health field of practice modules will be further informed by critical engagement with current mental health agendas and developments. This is a three-year, full-time degree consisting of field of practice, generic and practice learning modules, beginning at Level 4 through to Level 6.

- Assist you to develop both practical and theoretical skills, in order to achieve your full potential as a Nurse and meet the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Standards. These include professional values, communication, interpersonal skills, nursing practice, decision making, leadership, management and team working

General requirements
A-Level
- BBB or equivalent. A minimum of 2 A-Levels
- BTEC Extended Diploma or OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical
- DDM. Health and Social Care or Science only will be considered
- Access to HE Diploma
- All Level 3 credits must be at Distinction level. Nursing, science or health-related pathway only will be considered (to include study of physiology and biology)
- International Baccalaureate Diploma
- 30 points, Higher Level grades minimum of 5, 5, 5
- A recognised and equivalent vocational, industry or professional qualification
- A recognised and equivalent qualification (examinations and experience) and apply following the Accredited Prior Learning procedure (APL), students must have 12 months minimum, 18 months maximum APL GCSE
- Five GCSEs at grade C or above which must include English, mathematics and a science. We do not accept Level 2 equivalent qualifications
