Programme Structure

Curriculum:

The first year introduces you to the various lifestyle sectors:

  • Health (sports/exercise/fitness)
  • Food
  • Leisure
  • Appearance (fashion/beauty)
  • Living (Housing and home environment)
  • Work

Year 2 is all about in-depth exploration, both of the sectors and of the professional tasks of concepting and trend research.

The third year consists of a minor and an internship period.

In the last year of your studies you choose a specialty, focusing on two sectors of your choice.

    The TOEFL®PBT is administered in a paper format and measures your ability to use and understand English in a classroom setting at the college or university level. General Requirements

As a prospective Bachelor's student you must have a higher secondary education diploma equivalent to Dutch standards. In order to be admitted to Fontys University of Applied Sciences students must be eligible for higher education through a diploma of secondary education / high school diploma with good results. This means: 

  • For Dutch students: vwo-, havo- or mbo-diploma
  • For German students: Fachabitur or Abitur (Fachhochschulreife or Allgemeine Hochschulreife)
  • For students with other nationalities: senior high school diploma/ GCE or equivalent e.g. the British GCE A-levels or GCSE grades A, B or C, International Baccalaureate, the French Baccalaureat or the American High School (top stream or plus 1 year college)

Funding

Fontys Academy for Creative Industries (ACI) awards a limited amount of scholarships to students from countries other than those of the European Economic Area (EEA). Two different type of scholarships exist:

  • Holland Scholarship Programme
  • ACI Creative Mind Scholarship
