Description
Patch Fund at the Community Foundation Tyne & Wear and Northumberland. The award is from a generous anonymous benefactor to assist students with their Dental studies who are: from underprivileged backgrounds, from the North East and are in need of financial support.
Benefits
The award amount is £1,000 per year for your first four years of undergraduate study.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this award you must:
- be in Year 1 of the Dental Surgery BDS undergraduate degree programme in the School of Dental Sciences;
- have been resident in the North East for five years or more. Postcodes include those beginning: NE, SR, DH, DL, TD, TS;
- be from an underprivileged background and/or with low household incomes.

You will be informed by email or the Student Financial Support Team by December if you were successful in receiving the scholarship.
All scholarship recipients are asked to provide:
an introductory profile when they first receive the award;
an annual update report in Spring/Summer to inform their donor of their progress.
