Description

The Connor King Foundation. The scholarship was established in memory of Connor King, who died while in Stage 3 of his Dental Surgery BDS degree at Newcastle’s School of Dental Sciences. He was a very enthusiastic young man, with a kind heart and passion for helping those less fortunate than himself.

The Foundation aims to:

support students from underprivileged backgrounds who are interested in pursuing their careers in dentistry;

provide financial support to help with tuition fees and costs to these students.

Benefits

Two scholarships are available each year to Dental Surgery BDS students entering Newcastle University. The award amount is £1,000 per year for stages one to five. 

Eligibility

To be eligible for this award you must:

  • come from a widening participation background and/or have low household incomes;
  • be a stage one undergraduate student on the Dental Surgery BDS programme.

All scholarship recipients are asked to provide:

an introductory profile when they first receive the award;
