Description

This Medicine - Hindhaugh Bursary has been generously donated to honour members of the Hindhaugh family who studied for their medical degrees at the University. Recognising that the Hindhaugh family were both in business and in medicine associated with Newcastle upon Tyne, first preference will be given to students whose families are from the region.

The scholarship is worth £2,000 across 1 year of study only.

Eligibility

The scholarship is available to a student in their final year (Year 5) of the Medicine and Surgery MB BS undergraduate degree programme at Newcastle University.   

To be eligible for this award you must:  

  • be registered as a full-time final year UK undergraduate on the Medicine and Surgery MB BS course in the Faculty of Medical Sciences
  • be from the North East of England
  • have and be able to demonstrate financial need for the award
  • be receiving your full student funding to which you are entitled and be able to provide evidence of this
