Description
Being designated a Bone Scholar is the highest honor an Illinois State University undergraduate student can receive. Bone Scholars receive a scholarship, commemorative medallion, and are recognized in a display in the Bone Student Center. Scholars are also formally recognized at a luncheon and at Commencement.
Students are nominated by their Department/School to apply for the scholarship, generally in the junior year.

Eligibility
Nominees must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Cumulative grade point average of 3.7 or higher at the time of nomination.
- Have attended Illinois State University for at least four semesters (excluding summer) by June 2023.
- Anticipate graduating no earlier than December, and no later than August.
- Be an undergraduate student at Illinois State during the Fall semester.
Students who already have a bachelor’s degree are not eligible.

Nominees should provide the Guidance for Letters of Recommendation document to the references who have been asked to submit a letter of recommendation.
