The Joyce Henricks Paper Prize in Women and Gender Studies was named for the Women and Gender Studies program’s founder, Dr. Joyce Henricks, the WGS prize honors excellent undergraduate work in the field.

The scholarship offers a $250 amount, to help you with your studies.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be current CMU students, but do not have to be WGS majors or minors.
  • Submissions may take the form of a research paper or a creative endeavor that represents an original contribution to the study of Women and Gender Studies.
  • The submission should represent a substantial scholarly or creative endeavor.
  • A student may not submit more than one paper or creative endeavor.
  • The submission can be from any CMU class. The student should submit the course assignment and/or criteria given by the professor.
  • Papers may not exceed 20 pages in length. Bibliography and table pages are not counted.
  • Creative endeavors should be documented in a portfolio of up to 10 images or one video file. Please create a single PDF with all images or links. Details of a large piece may be included at the applicant’s discretion. Each work must be clearly identified as follows: Title of work / Medium / Dimensions.
  • Papers co-authored by faculty at this institution or at another institution are not eligible.
