The Lester Booker Jr. Scholarship Fund for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion was established in 2019 by Lester A. Booker, Jr. (Class of 2008 and 2010).

The donor intends to establish an undergraduate scholarship for diversity and inclusion through an estate plan.

Eligibility

  • CMU Sophomore, Junior, or Senior 
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 
  • Demonstrates an active commitment to the participation of underrepresented communities in educational pursuits 
  • Must submit a letter of recommendation from an organization, educator, or community leader where the student played a mentorship or leadership role 
  • Preferences will be given to applicants who are currently serving or have previously served as a Resident Assistant, Inclusion Assistant, or Peer Advisor within the Office of Residence Life 
  • Preference will also be given to applicants from the Detroit Public Schools Community District
