Description
The Chester J. Brown Memorial Endowed Scholarship was established in 1984 by family, friends and the trust of Chester James Brown (Class of 1934), lifelong resident of Isabella County, for a student from the Central Michigan area pursuing a major within the College of the Arts and Media or the College of Science & Engineering, with a preference for Math or Chemistry.

Eligibility
- Incoming CMU Freshman student.
- Minimum High School GPA of 3.0.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Resident of the Central Michigan area (Arenac, Bay, Clare, Gladwin, Gratiot, Isabella, Lake, Mason, Mecosta, Midland, Montcalm, Newaygo, Oceana, Osceola, or Saginaw County).
- Pursuing a major within the College of the Arts and Media or the College of Science & Engineering.
- Preference for Math or Chemistry major.
