Description
The The Stiel Prize for Excellence in Mathematics is by nomination only. This scholarship was established by Dr. Edsel Stiel and Mrs. Laurie Stiel to recognize and honor students who have demonstrated a strong interest and ability in mathematics.

The scholarship offers a $1,000 amount, to help you with your studies.
Eligibility
Must have demonstrated strong interest and ability in mathematics as evidenced by:
- A high level of performance in advanced math courses and,
- A record of accomplishments outside of courses, including activities such as:
- participation in a REU or other research program,
- presentations of research at regional or national meetings,
- submission of research or problem solutions to mathematics journals, and/or
- a high level of performance in mathematical competitions.
