Description
The Michael & Lucy Steiner Study Abroad Scholarship was established by the Steiner family, their colleagues, students, friends, and CSUF American Studies alumni.
The scholarship honors Mike and Lucy Steiner’s commitment to traveling, regionalism, and transnational understandings of America and is to help offset the costs of CSUF Study Abroad, Study Away, or other CSUF travel and scholarship programs.
Upon return, all Steiner scholarship recipients are expected to visit an American Studies class to report on the experience, write a thank-you note for the Steiner Scholarship webpage, or otherwise help encourage students to participate in this opportunity.

The scholarship offers a $1,000 amount to help you with your studies.
Eligibility
This scholarship is open to students who meet the following criteria:
- Declared major or minor in American Studies, or enrollment in the American Studies M.A. program at CSU Fullerton
- Completion of at least 9 units in American Studies courses
- Must be accepted into and participating in a CSUF Study Abroad, Study Away, or other CSUF-sponsored travel and scholarship program
Criteria:
Applicants will be evaluated based on:
- Relevance of the study abroad/travel program to American Studies
- Academic achievement
- Quality of the required essay response

Complete the study Abroad essay in the "Optional Essays" section. Include the reasons you wish to study abroad, and the role of American Studies in your journey.
