Description
The Prakriti Suri Memorial Award was created to support and encourage promising pre-medical students conducting creative, scientific research during the summer months.
This scholarship will be awarded a two high-achieving pre-med students who are preparing for entrance into medical school. Applicants should be in senior standing (90 units or more) who have completed a minimum of 30 units at CSUN, have a GPA greater than or equal to a 3.5, and are pursuing a career in medicine.
Priority will be given to students who have applied or will apply to medical school before graduating from CSUN.
The Prakriti Suri Memorial Award was established in memory of the daughter of, Mr and Mrs. Kuldip P. Suri. Prakriti Suri was attending CSUN in pursuit of a medical career when she passed away in 1983.
Understanding the personal and financial pressures that beset pre-med students, her parents established the Prakriti Suri Memorial Award to aid them in their preparation for acceptance to medical school.

The scholarship is worth $1,000.
Eligibility
- Must be an undergraduate pre-medical student in senior standing.
- Must have (90 units or more) and must have completed a minimum of 30 units at CSUN.
- Must be enrolled in 6 units or more for the current Spring term.
- Must be a Biology major.
- Must be pursuing a career in medicine.
- Must have a GPA greater than or equal to a 3.5.

Must write a personal essay stating medical school application status, noting if your application has been; (accepted, application pending, or not yet applied; Please also indicate if you have taken the MCAT, include (scores), if MCAT is planned, or if you have not yet registered for MCAT).
Three Letters of recommendation must be submitted on my behalf via the myMatador Scholarships portal.Must upload: A copy of unofficial CSUN transcripts.The Prakriti Suri Memorial Award is based on merit and is an honor worthy of citation within the recipients’ applications to medical schools.
If selected as an opportunity recipient, you agree to write a thank-you letter to the donor(s) and must be willing to meet with the donor(s) or designee(s). Both to be coordinated by the College’s Director of Development.
