Description
The Alfred and Louise Hewitt Journalism Fund was established by Mr. Stephen Hewitt in memory of his parents, Alfred and Louise Hewitt. Mr. Alfred Hewitt was passionate about journalism and this scholarship will celebrate his witty journalistic soul.
In the tradition of his humor and teaching style, this scholarship is being established in his name to honor students who carry on his writing style and approach to journalism.

The scholarship offers a $1,000 amount to help you with your studies.
Eligibility
This scholarship is open to students who meet the following criteria:
- Enrolled as an undergraduate juniors or senior with at least one semester of enrollment remaining at CSUF.
- Enrolled as a communications major with a concentration in journalism.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25.
- Demonstrates academic excellence.
- Plans to pursue a career in journalism, broadcast journalism, graphics, public relations or photography.
- Demonstrates financial need.
Criteria - Applicants will be evaluated based on:
- Full-time enrollment at CSUF.
- Good academic standing with the University.
- Career goals.
- Academic excellence:
- Excellent journalistic writing skills with an open-minded viewpoint.
- Dedicated to the journalism profession.
- High ethical standards.
