This scholarship was established by James (Jim) Barnes, a Ball State alumnus in Industrial Education Technology who established and incorporated Jim Barnes Inc. (JBI), that represented a sizable group of allied and innovative manufacturers who offered a range of engineered solutions where various disciplines must cooperate to provide a total solution.

Eligibility
- Be a construction management major.
- Show qualities of leadership and personality that will predict success in your chosen field.
- Have a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or a specific class status (for certain scholarships).
