The studentship supported students undertaking a full-time postgraduate taught programme at the University of Hull’s main campus. Postgraduate Certificates and Postgraduate Diplomas were excluded.

Eligibility
Applicants were required to:
- Have international fee status.
- Study a full-time postgraduate taught programme at the University of Hull’s main campus.
- Be a national of Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cabo Verde, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia or Zimbabwe.
Postgraduate Certificate and Postgraduate Diploma programmes were not eligible. Students could hold only one financial award from the University of Hull.
