Description

This Scholarship was established by a generous donation from the estate of Don and Mona Dooley. Don and Mona lived in Thailand from 1966-1970 while Don worked for an international company that sold wine and spirits to U.S. military bases in Thailand, Nepal and India. During their four years in Thailand the Dooley’s grew to love the country and its people. Upon their return to Newfoundland they made many return visits to Thailand to vacation and visit friends. This scholarship is their way of giving back to the country that was an important part of their lives.

Benefits

Valued at a portion of the income on the endowment, and it will be awarded annually.

Eligibility

  • For a  student from Thailand who meets the minimum academic requirements for a scholarship.
  • In the event there is no qualified student from Thailand in a given year it may be awarded to an eligible student from Southeast Asia, or the funds may be held for the following year.
