Description
The scholarship is funded by Andrew and Savitha Calthorpe and is available to eligible undergraduate students from underrepresented backgrounds.
It is designed to help students overcome barriers to higher education and enhance their academic and professional development throughout their studies.
Benefits
Value: £3,000 in years one and two, and £4,000 in your final year. A laptop to help with your studies.
Eligibility
You must:
- be a male student
- be from a White background
- be a first generation student (from a family where neither your parent(s) or guardian(s) attended university and got an undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification in the UK or abroad)
- hold a firm offer to study a new full-time undergraduate degree (excluding foundation year and distance learning)
- have a household income of £25,000 or less. We’ll check this against your Student Finance application. Please contact us if you will not be applying to Student Finance for a maintenance loan.
- be a UK student (English, Scottish, Welsh or Northern Irish) paying the standard full-time fees, and have a UK Student Support Number
- pay for your course yourself, including through a student loan or a payment from your parents. Your course fees must not be paid by a business, charity or other organisation.
