Description
The bursary is an income-assessed award designed to support students with living expenses throughout their undergraduate studies. Awards are available for Years 1–4 of eligible degree programmes (Year 5 is not eligible).
There are three levels of support, depending on the household income assessed by Student Finance. Students do not need to submit a separate bursary application but must consent to share their financial information with the University.
Benefits
£3,100 per year – household income £0–£25,000.
£2,100 per year – household income £25,001–£35,000.
£1,100 per year – household income £35,001–£42,600.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be a full-time undergraduate student.
- Have Home fee status from England, Wales or Northern Ireland.
- Be liable for the standard undergraduate tuition fee.
- Have a household income of £42,600 or below, as assessed by Student Finance.
- Consent to share their financial information with Heriot-Watt University.
