The scholarship is funded by Hugh Vanstone, one of the UK's leading lighting designers, to address the lack of diversity within the creative and cultural industries, particularly in technical theatre and Production Arts.

The scholarship is available to students training on one of the undergraduate Production Arts pathways at Guildhall School.
