Description
Immigration is rarely a simple or straightforward journey. Many individuals and families experience separation, uncertainty, financial hardship, language barriers, and the constant fear of losing stability while trying to build a future in a new country. These experiences can shape a person’s life in profound ways, requiring resilience, perseverance, and hope in the face of significant challenges.
Benefits
Through this initiative, the firm will award five scholarships of $10,000 each to undergraduate students pursuing higher education in the United States.
Eligibility
All applicants must meet the eligibility requirements outlined on this scholarship page, including the following:
- Applicant must be enrolled in or admitted to an accredited college or university as an undergraduate student.
- Applicant must be at least 18 years old at the time of enrollment.
- Applicant must reside in the United States.
- Applicant must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and provide an unofficial transcript.
- Applicant must submit proof of acceptance or enrollment in a college or university.
- Applicant must submit an original essay responding to the scholarship topic.
- Applicant must submit personal and academic information through the application form.
The following individuals are not eligible to apply:
- Employees or children of employees of Mendoza Law Firm.
- Past recipients of The Immigrant Journey: Hardship, Hope, and Resilience Scholarship.
- Applicants unwilling or unable to participate in an interview with a representative of Mendoza Law Firm if selected as a scholarship recipient.
- Applicants who submit the same essay for multiple scholarships or reuse an essay from previous years.
