Description
These Undergraduate Merit Scholarships are intended to help with the cost of out-of-state tuition. Involvement in another program that waives out-of-state tuition makes a student ineligible for merit scholarships.
Benefits
Merit Scholarships are limited to 8 semesters, provided the minimum eligibility requirements are mantained.
Undergraduate Merit Scholarships:
Blue Scholarship $5,000 per year >3.0 GPA
Gold Scholarship $7,000 per year >3.5 GPA
Elite Scholarship $9,000 per year >3.75 GPA
Eligibility
To receive an International Merit Scholarship at ETSU, students must:
- Be admitted to ETSU as a degree-seeking student.
- Have, or plan to have, a visa that allows for a full-time course of study.
- Have earned a 3.0 GPA or higher in previous coursework
- Freshman Applicants - 3.0 GPA in High School
- Transfer Applicants - 3.0 GPA in previous university coursework
Students ineligible for International Merit Scholarships:
- Second Bachelor's Degree Applicants if previous degree was granted by ETSU.
- Students paying in-state or E-Rate tuition.

International Merit Scholarships are available to new degree-seeking international students. All students who apply for admission are considered for these scholarships. No separate application is needed.
