Description
This scholarship has been established to assist students with the costs associated with the development and presentation of artwork to exhibit at the undergraduate degree show at the Sydney College of Art.
The scholarship is funded by a donation to the University of Sydney by the de Costa family in memory of Jerome de Costa whose enrolment at SCA was sadly prevented by his untimely death.
Benefits
This scholarship is valued at $5,000.
Eligibility
You must:
- be currently enrolled in one of the following degrees in the Sydney College of Arts at the University of Sydney:
- Bachelor of Visual Arts, or
- Bachelor of Visual Arts and Bachelor of Advanced Studies
- be completing your last studio unit of study in the year of application
- be planning to exhibit as part of the graduate exhibition
- be able to demonstrate financial hardship in one or more of the below:
- identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island person as defined in the University of Sydney’s Confirmation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identity Policy 2015
- low socio-economic status
- carer responsibilities
- long-term medical condition/disability (including ongoing effects of abuse)
- sole-parent responsibilities
- regional and/or remote disadvantage
- refugee status
- LGBTIQ +, and/or
- first in family.
