Description

This Scholarship was established by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences to financially support an asylum seeker or refugee commencing an undergraduate coursework degree at the University of Sydney.

Benefits

This scholarship will cover tuition fees of up to $50,000 per year, and $12,000 per year for living expenses for the duration of the recipient's approved course.

Also included is standard single Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the recipient as well as Student Services Amenities Fee (SSAF) for the duration of the recipient's approved course.

Eligibility

You must:

  • be enrolled as an international student 
  • hold asylum seeker status in Australia including one of the following visas (or equivalent) at the time of application:
    • Bridging Visa A (subclass 010)
    • Bridging Visa E (subclass 050)
    • Temporary Protection Visa (Subclass 785)
    • Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (subclass 790)
    • Temporary Humanitarian Concern Visa (subclass 786) 
    • Temporary Humanitarian Stay Visa (Subclass 449)
  • be commencing in an undergraduate award course of up to 4 years in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
