Description
They are pleased to offer 20 University of Wolverhampton Women in STEM scholarship to undergraduate students in September 2024. The University is committed in supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and empowering women worldwide in STEM subjects. According to data from the UN Scientific Education and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), fewer than 30% of researchers worldwide are women and only 30% of female students select STEM-related fields in higher education.

The Scholarship will take the form of a fee reduction that will apply for every year of your studies. There are 20 scholarships of £2,000 per year for students.

Eligibility
- Applicants must hold an offer for a full-time undergraduate programme (area of STEM) at University of Wolverhampton for entry in academic year 2024/2025 by July 31st 2024, or A Level results day.
- Scholarships are not transferable and are only available for entry in academic year 2024/2025
- Applicants must be self-funding and not in receipt of a scholarship from an external source
- Only applicants who have been assessed as overseas students for tuition fee purposes can access this scholarship.
- Applicant must be a woman or identify as a woman
- Students receiving any of the University of Wolverhampton Women in STEM Scholarships would also be eligible for the Lord Paul UG Excellence Scholarship
- Applicants will not be eligible for the scholarship if you defer your entry
- Recipients receiving this scholarship will be eligible to combine this with the University of Wolverhampton Lord Paul Undergraduate Excellence Scholarship
- Recipients are required to take part in student ambassador and/or mentoring schemes, promoting the value of studying at the University of Wolverhampton
- Willingness to embody the UK higher education experience, by attending lectures and tutorials and engaging with extra-curricular activities.

You will be required to submit a 500 word statement on “How would you promote STEM career and encourage other women to follow in your footsteps” this should include your plan and passion to engage other women and girls in STEM from your home country and demonstrate your plans for future contribution to capacity building and engagement through the benefits you achieved after graduating
