Everything you need to know about a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) course in Denmark

Studying Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.)

The Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng. or BE) is an academic degree achieved for undergraduate studies in one of the Engineering Sciences. It takes 3-4 years to graduate a B.Eng. degree.

The Bachelor of Engineering degree is academically equal to the Bachelor of Science. It is common practice to award the Bachelor of Engineering for technical programmes at universities of applied sciences or technical universities. Regular Engineering programmes at other universities are awarded as Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degrees.

During B.Eng. courses from international tech schools, students learn how to solve Engineering problems using Mathematics, scientific principles, as well as new methods and technologies. You develop problem-solving skills, an analytical approach, and discover how to conduct proper research. To graduate, students have to write an Engineering research paper during the final study year.

Study in Denmark

Denmark takes pride in having an excellent education system and some of the best academic institutions in Europe. If you’re an EU/EEA national, you can even study for free at local public universities. Classes are held in small groups, allowing students to focus better and actively participate in discussions and activities. This also enables professors to pay attention to each student individually, ensuring nobody is overlooked. Over 90% of Danish people speak English, so language barriers are non-existent. However, there’s a high chance you’ll need to learn Danish, at least at a conversational level, if you want to get a part-time job during your studies. Don’t be surprised if you’ll find yourself falling in love with ‘Hygge’ — a Danish concept that can be summed up as a feeling of calm, coziness, and tranquillity, simply feeling good in the moment. It’s all about appreciating and enjoying your current experience.
