Pamplona city life
Pamplona is famous worldwide for the running of the bulls during the San Fermín festival, which is held annually. However, there is more to this city then one festival; you can visit several museums and churches, enjoy natural landscapes and relax with a sangria in a nice pub in the evening.
The major landmarks of Pamplona are:

- Ciudadela or citadel – built in the shape of a pentagon under the rule of King Philip II
- Plaza del Castillo
- The Museo de Navarra
- The Museo Diocesano of religious art
- Fortress and Walls of Pamplona
In Pamplona, you can relax and walk around many parks and garden areas, like the Taconera Park, or Media Luna park.
You can enjoy football or handball matches, or attend a bull ring performance; the city is also hosting cycling events, water polo contests.
The entertainment life is pretty active at night, look for the bars and pubs on the San Nicolás, Estafeta, and Jarauta streets.
Pamplona surroundings are rich in attractions, just outside the city in Gorraiz, you will find a palace that once belonged to Sir Lancelot of King Arthur.Vvisit the Monastery of Leyre, which is a 30 minutes-drive from Pamplona, the little town of Sangüesa and Ayerbe village – at the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains.
Zaragoza and Bilbao, two lovely cities in Spain, are only two hours away from Pamplona, so you can always make a trip there too and you can even get to France in just two hours with the bus.
International atmosphere in Pamplona
Pamplona counts a significant number of international students, particularly from European countries. The rest of the multicultural environment is enriched by the ethnic communities living in Pamplona, many people come from Romania and other countries from Eastern Europe, Morocco, Ecuador and Colombia.
Pamplona is pretty popular in terms of foreign investment, particularly in fields like manufacturing and real estate and also, many branches of foreign companies were established here. Most international business people are from EU countries, and a few from Latin America.
Weather Pamplona
Influenced by the Mediterranean, in Pamplona, you would experience mild winters and somewhat drier summer months. However, throughout a year, the city counts more rainfalls than most parts of Spain, particularly March and October are the wettest months. The average high temperatures in summer months are 28 °C (83 °F) and in the winter, they are around 9 – 10 °C (48 – 51 °F). The cold season usually lasts from November to March.
