History
CEU Cardenal Herrera University is part of the CEU San Pablo University Foundation, which is a not-for-profit teaching organization with more than 90 years of experience in the field of education. Those who set up the Foundation were members of the Catholic Association of Propagandists, an organization founded in 1908.
Education
We believe in an innovative and international teaching model. And this is what makes us pioneers, not only in the substance but also in the way we do things: “Be first so that you can train the ones who will be first” – this is how we understand education.
We offer a wide range of degrees in English or Spanish (also bilingual degrees Spanish/English or Spanish/French) in four different faculties:
- Faculty of Law, Business and Political Science
- Faculty of the Humanities and Communication Sciences
- Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
- Faculty of Health Sciences
Research
Many of the research projects at CEU take an interdisciplinary approach. Because we know that people’s needs are multi-faceted too. And by looking at them in a joined-up way, examining them collaboratively from a broad perspective, across multiple disciplines – in other words, by working together – we can achieve the best outcome for everyone.
CEU organises its research to foster the collaboration and innovation needed to solve the most pressing challenges facing the modern world.
Our key figures include 63 research groups, 5 Ramón y Cajal scholars, 27 assistant researchers, 4 research institutes, 2 observatories and 7 chairs.
Career
One of our missions is to enhance the employability of the University’s students and graduates, by building on the individual talents they already possess. Our commitment to help students build their career can be seen in the range of resources available to them, tailor-made to their needs. These include employability programmes, job search tools, and recruitment & networking events.
With a high employment rate in all of our degrees, in some cases our graduates find a job even before finishing their studies. Degrees like Nursing, Marketing or Architecture have a 100% employment rate.
CEU Scholarships
Below you will find scholarships related to CEU. Distinction can be made between scholarships provided by the University and those provided by independent providers.

University Ranking
Student services
There are several services devoted to improving the academic performance and provide advice for the personal and professional growth of our students.
Housing services
Although the University does not have a dorm on campus, there is a service that offers support to international students in the search of accommodation in Valencia. This service is part of our Hospitality Package, which is available for new students to ensure a smooth arrival in Valencia.
Library services
Our Library Service supports our study and research activity, with the mission to meet the educational and scientific needs of the University. There are currently four libraries in our different campuses, which open 24/7 during the exam period.
ICT services
Among its facilities, CEU Cardenal Herrera University offers computer rooms and IT support to all students.
Medical services
Spain has a wide network of health centres and public hospitals that guarantee health care. EU students are required to have the European Health Card so they can benefit from the National Health System. Other students can take out a private insurance to cover any eventual medical expense in the country.
The University does have a medical service on campus, as well as a phycological support unit.
Campus life
CEU Cardenal Herrera University currently has three different campuses, one in each of the three provinces of our region. The main campus is located in Alfara del Patriarca, about 20 minutes from the centre of Valencia, which can be easily reached by metro. The campuses in Elche (Alicante) and Castellón de la Plana are smaller and only offer degrees in Spanish.
All three campuses are located in urban areas and have their own canteens, as well as other services.
Sports facilities
The purpose of the Sports Service is to bring the University’s students together through participation in sport. The main objective is therefore to facilitate and encourage student participation in sporting activities as much as possible.
To achieve this, we organize a busy programme of competitions, activities and events to promote a competitive spirit, health, education, an interest in nature and other benefits.
The University’s Sports Service has its own sports area and has agreements in place with external organizations for the use of their facilities.
Student clubs
Participation in cultural activities are an opportunity to cultivate relationships between students from different programmes, teachers and service staff at CEU UCH. Among others, you can join any of the following clubs and societies (up to 40 different ones!):
- Book Club
- CEU Photo Club
- University Choir
- Drama Club
- Debate Society
- Stock Market Club
Accreditation
- Certificate for Quality in Internationalisation (CeQUINT), by the European Consortium for Accreditation in Higher Education.
- Our Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is accredited by the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE)
