Braunschweig University of Technology

Research and teaching, campus life and services at our Technische Universität Carolo-Wilhelmina are all based on our shared values and goals. These, in turn, are the result of a focused strategy development process and were adopted by the university’s Senate and Council in November 2013. All of the university’s strategic fields of action are based on them.

Bachelor's programmes

  • 1745 The Collegium Carolinum is established, a new type of educational institution between secondary school and university, where mathematical/technical subjects are taught alongside humanities and fine arts.
  • 1862 The institute is renamed the Polytechnic School. It is organized in eight technical and scientific departments.

Our courses are guided by our research and impart broad, in-depth fundamentals, as well as offering diverse possibilities for individual specialisation. We also practice knowledge transfers through research-oriented further education.

Technische Universität Braunschweig is a technical university with a rich tradition and a proven research and teaching profile. It has:

  • A complete engineering branch covering architecture, civil and environmental engineering, electrical engineering, informatics and mechanical engineering
  • A strong natural sciences branch with an excellent professional network within TU Braunschweig
  • Business sciences, social sciences, humanities, educational sciences and subject-specific teaching skills, all of them well integrated into TU Braunschweig
