Student Life

Campus life

Nottingham Business School is located in Newton Building at our City Campus. The University has invested a massive £90 million in the regeneration of two Grade II* listed buildings, Newton and Arkwright, at the heart of the City Campus. These landmarks have been revamped, while keeping their historic beauty, with an ultra-modern Central Court now linking them.

The light and airy central hub of the University's City Campus is the ideal space for students to relax and share ideas. You can choose from the Central Court, Newton Forum or Benefactors' Court to socialise in a soothing learning environment.

Sports facilities

Our state-of-the-art City Sports Centre was opened in 2013 by Olympic legacy ambassador Lord Sebastian Coe. It contains an impressive sports hall built to Sport England standards, a 100-station fitness suite and a dance studio, all around a central 30ft climbing wall. Suitable for beginners through to the experienced, it is now one of the top attractions of the City Sports Centre. The 30ft climbing wall, spanning three whole floors is based in the Students' Union building and has created real buzz. We offer a wide variety of fitness classes to help you stay active, fitting into your busy lifestyle around work and social time.

Student clubs

We’ve got over 80 societies to tempt you with, so you’re really spoilt for choice. Interested in politics? Want to help the local community? Keen to be involved in a faith-based group? Or maybe an activity or sport is more your thing?

We have societies in a diverse range of categories, including:

  • academic
  • artistic
  • common interest
  • cultural
  • faith
  • hall groups
  • philanthropic
  • political
  • sports clubs
  • Trent Media.

Whatever it is you’d like to get into, from anime to archery, and cooking to conservation, our societies are the perfect way to meet like-minded people and have fun.

Nottingham Business School (NBS) is proud to have achieved EQUIS accreditation – an international benchmark of excellence for business schools. Fewer than 1% of business schools worldwide have both EQUIS and AACSB accreditation, confirming the rigorous and innovative standards of our teaching and research, and the balance we consistently strike between academic quality and professional relevance. Reflecting our commitment to a professionally focused, hands-on business education – individually tailored to the needs, interests and ambitions of our students – these accreditations consolidate NBS’ reputation for excellence.
