History
University of Technology cooperated with UNESCO to establish the University in 1960. The Ministry of Education submitted the idea of graduating technical educators. The institute was established on 22.01.1960. The graduates granted a bachelor's degree in Applied Engineering. Forty-five students were accepted who graduated from the industrial high schools.

Student services
When the University of Technology was established on 04/1/1975, the Youth Welfare Department was formed, linked to the Assistant President of the University for Student Affairs.
Objectives:
- Develop students' talents, refine them, and direct them to occupy free time in a positive and beneficial manner.
- Contributing to the integration of building the student’s personality in the future (leadership/assuming responsibility/self-confidence/cooperation/sacrifice/self-denial……).
- Forming good relations between the student, the faculty member and the employee at the university by involving them in unified sports and artistic activities.
- Spreading sports awareness, sports culture and correct teachings.
Student clubs
Believing that developing and support the student’s creativities is a crucial duty, The University of Technology establishes the innovation students club, the place where knowledge and creativity are meet. The club is aiming to be a station that holds all the outstanding students and innovative ideas. It is an unprecedented step that reflects the conscious and renewed trends of the University of Technology in invested in student’s capabilities. The club will be an incubator of brainstorm, multidisciplinary projects, and collaborative work among the students.
