History

Ulster University  is a multi-campus university which can trace its origins back to 1845. The university has now spread beyond its Northern Ireland roots to include branch campuses in London and Birmingham, run in partnership with QA Higher Education. We are a truly international university with international students from over 80 different countries.

Education

The branch campuses offer globally recognised, fully accredited degrees at Bachelors, Pre-Masters and Masters levels, and we also offer Pre-Sessional English. We have an excellent reputation for research, for providing work-based learning, and for the level of recognition granted by professional bodies.

  • Student Services and Welfare Team

If you are a student and would like to speak to someone at the university for help or advice you can contact our student welfare department for an appointment by phone or by email.

  • Careers and Employability

At the heart of our network is the Careers and Employment Service who provide you with a range of services including an online careers portal (including employer videos, practice psychometric tests and other resources), workshops, and one-to-one appointments.

  • Finance Team

Our Student Finance Team are also available to help you whilst you are studying with us. If you would like a personal appointment then you’re welcome to contact them at any time. 

  • Your ACE Team

The ‘Academic Community of Excellence’ Team are highly experienced academic study tutors who assist students in many aspects of academic life. 

Library services

Library space is available at both our London and Birmingham campuses.

In London, we’ve also recently opened a brand new QA Student Hub that's been decked out with the 21st century learner in mind, equipped with modern technology and furnishings.

Campus life

We pride ourselves on providing our students with a professional learning environment that helps to prepare you for your working life. Our purpose-built teaching facilities in London and Birmingham are equipped with the latest technology, practical study aids and an extensive library to assist you in your research.

The locations of our campuses also put you at the heart of the UK’s 2 biggest business centres – ideal for study trips, work placements and, of course, interviews. Our London campus also has a teaching campus building and QA Student Hub.

Student clubs

You are automatically a member of the Students Activities Association (SAA). The purpose of the SAA and its voluntary student Ambassadors is to engage with students and assist the running of student-centred events across campus.

The Student Relations and Events Officer leads the SAA and is your point of call for student events and societies.

Among other things, The Student Relations and Events Officer runs social events and trips, such as discounted theatre and sightseeing trips, hosts competitions and cultural events as well as societies such as Business Club, Student Magazine, and Football Club.
