About

History

The School of Management was founded in 1990 (then called the Centre for Management Studies) and has grown from strength to strength ever since. We’re built on the values of intellectual curiosity, mutual respect, integrity, diversity and empowerment and our vision is to be recognised internationally as a centre of excellence for inspiring and empowering our students and staff to realise their full potential for the benefit of society.

Education

Being a research led school, our teaching is informed and shaped by the cutting edge research of our own academics. If you study with us you’ll learn from leading international researchers and scholars about the impact that Management can have on society, business, government and the economy, whilst also being in close contact with the latest research which is helping to make these changes.

We teach all the core areas of modern management, including accounting, marketing, human resources, entrepreneurship, corporate responsibility, international business and digital innovation.

Research

We undertake research at the cutting edge of management thinking through our own specialist themes and subject groups. We frequently collaborate with industrial and commercial research partners, as well as academic colleagues at other institutions (both in the UK and further afield) and in other departments within Royal Holloway.

Group members are also active within the academic research community, making regular contributions at conferences and in the pages of the leading academic journals in their fields.

Career

Here in the School of Management, we take your future career and employability prospects as being key to the experience we provide you with. That's why we weave employability skills into your learning with us from the first year onwards. With added support from our Placements Place team and the central college Careers Service, we're passionate about encouraging and supporting your development.

Our graduates go on to work across sectors, putting the skills they learnt with us to work in a variety of exciting management roles – including banking, marketing and project management.
