This roadmap institutionalised a commitment to excellence with a synergy in research for UNITEN. Our five Research Institutes that focus on Sustainable Energy, Energy Policy and Economics, Power Engineering, Energy Infrastructure and Informatics and Computing in Energy highlight opportunities, research and programmes that corresponds to the long term need of our stakeholders.

Housing services

Comfortable and cosy apartments are available for students on campus. Over 5,000 students can experience the comfort and convenience of the accommodation units at any given time as they come with lounges and pantry as well as round-the-clock security. Air-conditioner, fridge and water heater are also available for Premium Rooms.

Library services

Universiti Tenaga Nasional Library is one of the leading Private University Libraries in Malaysia, with a reputation for providing information resources and excellence in customer service.The resources and services of the library play a key role in enabling and supporting the high standard of learning, teaching, education and research at Universiti Tenaga Nasional.

ICT services

Free internet access is also available in the student residences and students can enjoy unlimited connectivity and digital freedom with high speed Wi-Fi connection which is available all over the campus.

The UNITEN Putrajaya campus, in effect, began to take shape in 1995 involving three stages of development and construction covering an area of 483 acres. Its close proximity to the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) and the federal administrative centre Putrajaya simply added to UNITEN’s air of auspiciousness.

According to Dr. Tajul Arus bin Noh, the first Rector of UNITEN, “The university’s primary mission is to provide quality education and training in engineering, information technology, business and related fields for Malaysians and other nationals.” By 1999, student enrolment in this state-of-the-art teaching and learning environment had reached an impressive 5,000.

Sports facilities

Thanks to UNITEN's complete and modern sports facilities, our students have the chance to join their sports clubs and play in university, national and international sports competitions.

All you have to do is sign up at the sports clubs at the beginning of the semester and enjoy the feeling of being fit in a great university atmosphere. All these options are free for UNITEN students.

With more than 50 clubs and associations, student life at UNITEN offers a welcoming place for everyone. To complement their academics and research, students choose their own extracurricular adventures, from a spectacular array of ways to participate in music, dance, and sports to dozens of groups that savor and celebrate cultures from around the world.

Universiti Tenaga Nasional is considered one of the best universities in Malaysia in terms teaching quality and studying environment. It has a very high global ranking especially when it comes to engineering field, because its laboratories are equipped with all the devises and machines needed to conduct practical experiments.
