Ecole htelire de Lausanne, the first hospitality management school in the world, was founded in 1893 on the shores of Lake Geneva in the famous Htel d'Angleterre. The school moved to its current campus in 1975, nestled between the Alps and Lake Geneva, just a few kilometers north of Lausanne.

The mission of the Lausanne Hospitality Research Center (in Partnership with STR Global) is to make a contribution to the hospitality industry and education through original projects conducted by our fellows. Our goal is to produce research that is both rigorous and relevant to the industry.

Student services

The school and its student committees offer a wide array of cultural, social and sports activities. Our on-campus restaurants (which include a gourmet restaurant, Le Berceau des Sens) offer 7 different types of cuisine. The EHL boutique sells homemade bread, pastries, chocolates and specialty items.

A dedicated student Service Centre caters to all student requests and administrative formalities; an IT service desk is there to help with all types of technical issues.

EHL also provides personalized academic support and guidance specialized Faculty Advisors, well as two certified coaches who provide individual or group support services. There are two psychologists and a full-time nurse on campus.

Housing services

Our campus provides on-campus student housing with around 300 studios. Students in the first semester (Preparatory Year) usually stay on campus, while most students from subsequent years share houses or apartments in and around Lausanne.

Library services

The Library can accommodate 260 students over an area of 900 m; it houses around 34,000 books and provides access to over 100 databases containing more than 103,000 full text documents.

Our state-of-the-art campus is in a beautiful setting, nestled in the hills overlooking Lausanne and Europes largest lake.

Sports facilities

The school offers a large range of sporting options on and off campus.

On campus, students have more than 19 disciplines available in addition to a health and fitness program they can enjoy. Skiing, snowboarding and sailing is also available near Lausanne.

Our campus boasts a leisure center, a fitness center and outdoor tennis courts. Our sports department offers a wide range of activities from team sports to the martial arts, yoga, pilates, aerobics and body-pump classes.

There are golf courses, an equestrian center and woodland hiking trails within a stone's throw of the School.
