About

History

The University of South Australia (UniSA) was established in 1991 but our foundations date back to the latter half of the 19th century. The forerunners of today’s UniSA were the South Australian School of Art, founded in 1856, the first of several Teacher Training Colleges formed in 1876, and the School of Mines and Industries which was established in 1889.

We offer degree programs across a wide range of subjects including business, law, education, arts and social sciences, health sciences, information technology, engineering and the environment.

  • we deliver for students the best possible start for their future careers;
  • we produce graduates who are capable of identifying opportunities and contributing to a vibrant and successful society;
  • we partner with industry and the professions to conduct research that’s cutting-edge and relevant; and
  • we engage meaningfully with our community.

My study experience has been great, Learnt a lot of things in the field of Civil Engineering and had a fun time as well exploring as a student. I remember when we went on a school trip and got a chance to experience real civil engineering works being done. My study experience also helped me to mature as a person.
