The University of South Australia (UniSA) was established in 1991 but our foundations date back to the latter half of the 19th century.

The forerunners of today’s UniSA were the South Australian School of Art, founded in 1856, the first of several Teacher Training Colleges formed in 1876, and the School of Mines and Industries which was established in 1889.

We offer degree programs across a wide range of subjects including business, law, education, arts and social sciences, health sciences, information technology, engineering and the environment.

  • we deliver for students the best possible start for their future careers;
  • we produce graduates who are capable of identifying opportunities and contributing to a vibrant and successful society;
  • we partner with industry and the professions to conduct research that’s cutting-edge and relevant; and
  • we engage meaningfully with our community.

Our research is inventive and adventurous, and we create new knowledge that is central to global, economic, and social prosperity.

100% of our assessed research was rated at or above world-class, and we are ranked #1 in Australia for research impact and engagement.

A lot of challenge, I had to push myself in many ways. Facing racists were the worst experience.

The University faculty and staff are good, approachable, and make studying easy. The assignments are very well understood and the subjects are taught well. Clear instructions and good resources for the same.
