The university was formally founded on 21 July 2010 as Turkey’s first foundation supported State University.AGU admitted its first students in 2013 - 2014 Academic Year. Education is being conducted at the site of Turkey’s first industrial complex, which is being transformed from a place of great historical significance to be a notable place of education.
AGU will admit undergraduate students to its eight different programs in School of Engineering, School of Life and Natural Sciences, School of Architecture, School of Leadership and Management, and School of Humanities and Social Sciences. New undergraduate programs will be added in near future. AGU will also project interdisciplinary graduate programs in its academic departments.
Currently our students live in the AGU Student Village, which is located across the street from the AGU Sümer Campus, or in the newly established city center AGU dorms.
The Student Village buildings include comfortable and furnished apartments with kitchen, shared living room, and bathrooms. Each apartment can house 4 to 6 students. The WiFi is of course available in every on-campus location.
The AGU Student Village is a gated area with 24/7 security, all-around green areas and multiple sports facilities (Tennis, Basketball, Volleyball, Football field, running track). A café is currently being built within the Student village walls.
The AGU Library offers an extensive range of books (+20.000 paperback and electronic books) and periodical subscriptions (+120.000).
On our Sümer campus a nurse is available on site at the AGU HEALTH CENTER until 5pm. A doctor is available on campus every morning during the week.
AGU's Sümer Campus was built on the former premises of the Sumer Bank Kayseri Textile Factory (the first industrial site in Turkey) and now includes both newly built and renovated historical buildings. Two thirds of the Campus, which is situated just two bus stops and 10 minutes away from the city's main square, are covered in greenery.
Along with all administrative and Faculty facilities, Sümer Campus also houses several outdoor sports facilities, as well as student and staff accommodation.
AGU currently has 16 student clubs, which you will have the opportunity to join as an International Student:
