Housing services

We look forward to welcoming many new students to Carlow for the first time in September. Many students coming to Carlow for college will be renting accommodation from landlords. As always when doing any business online, try to ensure that the source is trustworthy.

  • Make sure you see the property before you pay for it.
  • Tenants should not pay large deposits in advance without viewing inside the property and meeting the landlord of the property.
  • In general tenants should always meet the Landlord of the property face-to-face, in the property being rented, prior to entering in to any arrangement.

Library services

Books, journal articles or dissertations that are not available in the IT Carlow library may be requested from another library using the ILL service. Registered lecturing staff, final year and postgraduate students can submit an ILL request form which is available at the library desk. Requestors will be notified by email when the requested item has arrived and is available for collection.

Medical services

The campus Health Centre provides a comprehensive service for all students, including a full-time nursing service and surgeries with visiting doctors. Nurse Theresa Lowry-Lehnen provides a full medical care service to all students and an emergency care service to all staff on a day to day basis.

Overall a beneficial experience. The campus and class sizes being quite small allowed for increased interaction with lecturers and enabled me to voice opinions and contribute in class discussions more readily. There was a somewhat lacking of organisation and support with my specific programme. Being inter-discipline, there were times where it felt as though it was not...

I enrolled for a post graduate diploma course at a time the world was experiencing a Pandemic. Giving the circumstances lectures were delivered virtually and no opportunity for attending class physically. Notwithstanding it was a splendid experience as the lecturers did their best to educate in a way that leaves a positive impression in my humble estimation.

Three years of my life wasted.

The modules do not work with eachother, for example; every lecturer expects you to know material from another module that wasn't even covered. CAs and tests are done in a lazy manor which do not properly reflect...
