In 1890, the Sisters of St. Francis fled poverty in Kentucky and were accepted into the Diocese of Dubuque, Iowa. Soon after, they settled for good in Clinton, Iowa where the school at which they had been hired to teach has remained. The Sisters of St. Francis sold the university to Bridgepoint Education, Inc., a higher education organization, and its name was changed to Ashford University.
Ashford is an online university that provides a learning platform that is completely online to all its students. All of your courses take place in this online platform, and it is an asynchronous environment, which means you will have the ability to log in any time of the day. You also typically take one class at a time. Choose from a wide variety of online college degrees in some of today’s in-demand fields including health care, information management, business administration, education, and environmental studies.
