The Karel de Grote University of Applied Sciences and Arts officially opened in 1995 when 13 higher education institutes merged to form one. Our founders’ idea was – literally – to have a school with a name. The medieval European emperor was responsible for a vast European empire and brought unity to people, languages, cultures and social-economic systems. And importantly he helped to lay the foundations for Europe’s school system.

KdG students are assured of practice-oriented, authentic education. You will feel at home in our school with its dynamic and warm learning environment. Here, you get the opportunities to work together, explore and experiment, and discover and develop your talents. We expect a lot from you and provide regular and supportive feedback to maximise your learning.

Our lecturers will motivate, challenge and guide you through your degree, sharing their enthusiasm and up-to-date knowledge of their field.

Karel de Grote University of Applied Arts and Sciences  (KdG) conducts socially relevant scientific research and publish our results by means of printed media, on study days, in study programmes and via education.

The college is very helpful in terms of going abroad. Sometimes they lack internship places so you'll have to find it on your own.
