Overview
On this International Business (with a professional placement year) (Hons) degree at University of Sussex you study the core processes of management and discover how they shape international organisations.
You’ll mainly learn about the world’s key business regions including the European Union, North America, East and South East Asia and East and Central Europe. You have the opportunity to apply for a year in industry where you can put your knowledge into practice. At the University of Sussex Business School we have a wide range of well-established partnerships with global businesses.
You investigate trends in international business and global strategy and examine marketing and human resource management from an international perspective. There are a wide range of options including entrepreneurship and financial management. For your final year project you investigate a specialist area of international business. You’ll engage with dedicated professionals, and be challenged with new perspectives, ideas and approaches.

General requirements
- International Baccalaureate: 30 -32 points overall from the full IB Diploma.
- European Baccalaureate: Overall result of at least 75% to 77%.
- You must have a good level of Mathematics.
- You must have GCSE (or equivalent) Mathematics, with at least grade 4 (or grade C). You should also have a broad range of GCSEs grade 9-4 (A*-C), including good grades in relevant subjects.
- We take the EPQ into account when considering your application and it can be useful in the summer when your results are released if you have narrowly missed the conditions of your offer. We do not routinely include the EPQ in the conditions of your offer but we sometimes offer alternative conditions that include the EPQ.
