Bristol's music department has a strong focus on research and teaching, with its flexible course covering a wide range from historical musicology to 21st-century composition, and providing a plethora of performance opportunities.

You will spend your third year abroad in an Italian-speaking environment, which will enable you to refine your language skills and cultural knowledge.

    PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) is a language test that enables students to demonstrate their writing, listening, speaking, and reading skills when applying to study in English. Delivered and marked by computer, it reports on a scale between 10 and 90.

  • International Baccalaureate Diploma Standard offer: 32 points overall with 16 at Higher Level, including 5, 5 at Higher Level in Music and a modern language
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma Contextual offer: 29 points overall with 14 at Higher Level, including 5, 5 at Higher Level in Music and a modern language
  • Cambridge Pre-U offer: Requirements are as for A-levels, where grade A* is D2, A is D3, B is M2, and C is M3
  • BTEC offer: DDM plus B in a modern language A-level and either B in A-level Music or Merit in ABRSM/Trinity Grade 8 Music Theory
