About

During the Politics and German at the University of Bristol, you will study the politics of individual countries and governments, and the relationships between countries, communities and individuals. Both the School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies and the School of Modern Languages have an impressive reputation for teaching and research.

Politics is organised around three themes:

  • international relations.

Our German curriculum is designed to introduce you to many aspects of German studies. As well as taking structured language units, you will study literature, history, thought, politics, linguistics and culture.

  • A-level Contextual offer: BBB including a modern language
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma Standard offer: 34 points overall with 17 at Higher Level, including 5 at Higher Level in a modern language
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma Contextual offer: 31 points overall with 15 at Higher Level, including 5 at Higher Level in a modern language
  • Cambridge Pre-U offer: Requirements are as for A-levels, where Grade A* is D2, A is D3, B is M2, and C is M3
  • BTEC offer: DDD All applicants must demonstrate proven capacity for language learning, usually through a B at A-level in a modern language
