On completion of the Bachelor of Arts from CQUniversity Australia, you will be ready for a career in a multitude of fields, ranging from communications to nature and heritage conservation.


The Bachelor of Arts from CQUniversity Australia provides you with a varied and multidisciplinary education, as well as the opportunity to gain knowledge in a range of humanities and social sciences disciplines.

You will experience a variety of perspectives, methodologies and learning styles and explore disciplines that study the way humans recognise, record and debate human practices, meanings and values. This will aid you in developing a contemporary understanding of both the human condition and how society operates.

You will benefit from the program's flexible structure and can tailor your own program by choosing from a variety of majors and minors. These include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies, Liberal Arts, Writing, Geography and Environmental Studies, History, Literary and Cultural Studies. You may also undertake a professional major in Business, Journalism, Language, Multimedia or Psychology.

You may, upon completion of eight courses (48 units of credit), exit the program early with a Diploma of Arts.

Programme Structure

You are required to complete two majors totalling sixteen units from the following Bachelor of Arts majors.

» Liberal Arts

» Literary and Cultural Studies

» Social Enquiry

» Writing

In addition to one of the following:

One elective major comprising eight units selected from one of the following:

Or a general studies major totalling eight units, which can be chosen from any undergraduate course at CQUniversity, provided pre-requisite and co-requisite requirements are met.
