Overview
Communication is the scientific study of how humans interact with one another. Students in the Bachelor of Arts in Communication program at The University of Arizona examine the processes and effects of communication in four areas: interpersonal, mass, health and social influence. Because communication is the most fundamental social behavior by which individuals function, its study is relevant to a wide range of academic and career interests.
Coursework focuses on learning to write clearly, effectively and persuasively; understanding how to convey complex ideas simply; developing critical thinking skills; and identifying how to thoughtfully consume media. The department's commitment to quality teaching and research earned it Academic Analytics' top rank in the nation in research productivity.
