Overview
In the world of industry, advances are achieved by teams.
These teams have to be directed, organised and inspired by managers, who are often engineers of considerable talent and experience.
Teamwork and collaboration are essential when responding to design criteria, rigid timelines and unexpected issues. Those with excellent management skills will help to deliver the best solution within the timeframe. Engineers aim to anticipate and avoid problems that might arise in a wide range of industrial applications.
You'll gain practical and team-based experience from your first year onwards, meaning you'll graduate with the skills necessary to begin your management career. You'll develop your professional skills and your confidence with a year in industry.
If you're aspiring to have a leading role in the engineering industry, this Electronic Engineering with Business Management (with a year in industry) (Hons) programme from University of York is for you.
