Overview

The College offers 13 degree programs that equip students with the technical and management skills needed to launch careers in fields such as public management, planning, public safety, historic preservation, environmental studies, economic development, and housing. Degree completion programs are available for community college transfer students with A.A., A.A.S., or A.A.B. degrees in human services, health sciences, paralegal studies, police science, emergency management, or fire science.

Urban StudiesAs an Urban Studies major, you will learn how to revitalize neighborhoods or to write grant proposals. You will discover how public policy decisions affect everyone’s daily lives. You’ll explore environment-friendly urban development.

Your courses will come from the fields of geography, economics, political science, urban planning, statistics, environmental studies, and public management.

General Requirements

The following admission requirements apply to students who have not completed any college-level course work after completing secondary school.

  • Cumulative secondary school GPA equivalent to a 2.3 on the US grading scale for most programs. The College of Engineering requires a 2.7 and the College of Education and Human Services requires a 2.5.
  • Proof of English proficiency.
  • Students applying to the Honors College, student athletes who must comply with NCAA eligibility requirements, and those who have attended a US high school or secondary school in another country that follows the US high school curriculum must submit ACT or SAT scores. These students must submit a minimum ACT score of 16, or a minimum old SAT score of 770 (before March 1, 2016), or a minimum new SAT score of 860 (after March 1, 2016).
