Overview

At our city centre campus, you’ll be in the heart of Manchester – England’s leading city for tourism, events and hospitality outside London. And you’ll be immersed in it as soon as you start the course.

Industry collaboration is key to our approach. The modules you’ll study have been carefully created by our teaching team alongside industry partners and professional bodies. This means you’ll have great opportunities to kickstart your career or possibly join a graduate scheme after you finish.

Immersed in the industry

In the (Hons) Hospitality Business Management course from Manchester Metropolitan University, you’ll cover a range of areas to understand theory – from hospitality operations and business management, to entrepreneurship and leadership. Then, in Year 3, you’ll have a chance to put your skills into action on placement.

Outside the lecture theatre, we organise business visits, guest lectures, recruitment events, and work experience to help you understand the sector. And, with the chance to learn a language alongside your study, your Manchester Met degree could take you anywhere in the world.

Career

Every element of this course is designed to prepare you for a successful career. Because the hospitality industry is the world’s largest employer, you’ll have plenty of career paths to pick from when you graduate.

We help you develop managerial skills so you can progress to a graduate or senior role quickly. And the range of employers is huge – from small independents to large multinational chains. Our graduates have achieved successful careers in roles such as event operations at Merlin Entertainments, Tourism Marketing Executive with the Welsh Government, international hotel managers and restaurateurs.
