We’ve been successfully running this online Psychology degree for more than eight years and it remains one of our most popular online degrees. It will provide you with the fundamentals in psychology while allowing you to choose from a wide range of optional modules so you can tailor the course to your preferred area of interest.

Follow your own interests

During the final stage of this online course, in addition to the compulsory core areas of Psychology you can also choose from a range of optional modules, allowing you to follow your own interests. These may be in areas such as Addictive Behaviours, Applied Psychology and Ergonomics or Autism, Asperger’s and ADHD.

With a choice of start dates – September, January or May – and interactive online learning materials, you have the flexibility to study at the most convenient time and place for you. Course modules still operate within a fixed trimester but you can choose to study during the day, in the evenings or at the weekend rather than having to attend fixed lectures.

English Language Requirements

You only need to take one of these language tests:

  • Minimum required score: 6

    The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00. The minimum IELTS score requirement refers to which Overall Band Score you received, which is your combined average score. Read more about IELTS.

  • Minimum required score: 550

    The TOEFL – or Test OF English as a Foreign Language – offers a paper-based test (PBT). The final, overall PBT score ranges between 310 and 677, and is based on an average taken from the three test components (listening, structure, and reading).   • Minimum required score: 80

    The TOEFL – or Test Of English as a Foreign Language – offers an internet-based test (iBT). The final, overall iBT score ranges between 0 and 120, and includes a scaled average from the four components (reading, listening, speaking, and writing). Read more about TOEFL (iBT).

Academic Requirements

You require:

  • A levels (260 UCAS points - excluding General Studies) or equivalent qualifications, such as a BTEC National Diploma, Scottish Highers etc
  • GCSE Maths (minimum grade C)
  • GCSE English Language (minimum grade C)
We also accept Access qualifications (with a grade of 22 merits or a distinction).
