Our students are trained to understand all aspects of media production, from the technical processes of filming, editing and designing to the economic and ethical issues that underlie media production in the digital era. We don’t just teach students how to ‘do’ media and communication work but also how to analyse, critique and create as a powerful communicators.
By engaging students in a wide variety of practical tasks we develop their ability to manage projects, work in teams and solve complex problems. Students are also trained in essential communication skills such as presenting and writing.
However, getting students into great work is only the start of the story. The goal of the Communication and Media Studies major from The University of Western Australia is to help our students become versatile, responsible and creative communicators who will go on to make valuable and positive contributions to our world. If you think that sounds good to you, please join us.
