Overview

The Civil Engineering Major program of Northwestern University is designed to satisfy the diverse interests and professional goals of future civil engineers. Accredited by ABET, the undergraduate program allows students to develop study plans that are suited to their individual interests (including extensive options for courses outside of the McCormick School of Engineering) so that they may address the social, physical, and financial challenges of constructing and managing the nation’s infrastructure.

Students also learn how to apply and develop computer models and analytical and experimental methods to explore the response of infrastructure systems to normal and extreme stresses in advance of construction.
